5 kN Universal Testing Machine (AL-UN5)

Universal testing machine for tensile, compression, flexural, shear, and fatigue testing. This AL-UN5 configuration — Max. Test Force: 5 kN; Distance Between Clamps: 100 cm; Vertical Space: 140 cm; Horizontal Space: 40 cm; Structure: Single Column.

A bench-top machine for tensile, compression and flexural tests

The AL-UN5 is a single-column universal testing machine with a 5 kN maximum force, sized for plastics, films, rubber and other materials that need low to medium forces. It runs tensile tests to ISO 527 and ASTM D638, as well as compression, flexural, shear and fatigue programmes, and records force and elongation with ±0.5% precision. With interchangeable mechanical or hydraulic grips, one frame covers many specimen types; labs that need higher forces move up the range to the double-column AL-UN200 with 200 kN.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which tests can a universal testing machine perform?

Tensile, compression, flexural (bending), shear, peel and tear tests, plus cyclic fatigue programmes — depending on the grips and fixtures installed.

Is 5 kN enough for my samples?

5 kN suits plastic specimens, films, rubber, textiles and many thin components. For metals, thick composites or pipes, a higher-capacity frame such as the 200 kN AL-UN200 is recommended.

Which standards does it support?

Plastics tensile testing to ISO 527 and ASTM D638 and metallic tensile testing to ISO 6892-1, along with other methods that use the same tensile/compression principle.

How are results recorded?

The machine is controlled from a PC or touch-screen PC; force–elongation data and results can be transferred by USB, Wi-Fi or memory card.
