Muffle Furnace

High-temperature laboratory furnace for metal, ceramic, food, jewelry, and dentistry applications. Features uniform heat distribution with aluminum oxide fire brick interior and minimised outer surface temperatures.

Ash content and high-temperature treatment up to 1,000 °C

A muffle furnace heats samples in a closed chamber to burn off organic material, leaving the inorganic residue — the basis of ash-content and filler-content tests on plastics, food and raw materials. Alarge muffle furnaces reach 250–1,000 °C with ±1 °C thermostat accuracy, an aluminium-oxide firebrick interior and ceramic insulation for even heat and a cool outer surface. Capacities from 2 to 12 litres cover small analytical labs as well as heat-treatment work in metal, ceramic, jewellery and dental applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an ash (muffle) furnace used for?

To determine ash or filler content by burning off the organic part of a sample, and for heat treatment, pre-treatment and sintering of metal and ceramic samples.

What temperature range and accuracy does it have?

250 °C to 1,000 °C, with ±1 °C thermostat accuracy and about ±10 °C uniformity inside the chamber.

Which sizes are available?

2, 4, 7, 10 and 12 litres, all with 2,500 W heating power on AC 220 V.

How is an ash furnace different from a laboratory oven?

Ovens work at lower temperatures (typically up to about 250–300 °C) for drying, conditioning and sterilisation; an ash furnace reaches much higher temperatures for decomposition and ash determination.
