Butt Welding Machine

Joins plastic pipes and fittings in a leak-proof manner by heating pipe ends until melted, then compressing them together. After cooling, creates a durable, pressure-resistant connection. Available in 6 models (AL 180–AL 1000) covering Ø63–Ø1000 mm diameter pipes.

Joining PE and PP pipe as strong as the pipe itself

A butt welding machine faces both pipe ends flat and parallel, heats them on a hot plate until they melt, then presses them together under controlled force and holds them while the joint cools — creating one continuous wall with no fitting in between. Done to DVS 2207-1 and ISO 21307 parameters, the weld is as strong as the pipe. Alarge builds six hydraulic models, AL 180 to AL 1000, covering Ø63 to Ø1000 mm PE and PP pipe up to PN32, with digitally controlled heating and on-site operator training.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does butt welding work?

The pipe ends are clamped and faced with a rotating cutter, heated against a hot plate until a uniform melt bead forms, then joined under a specified pressure and held under reduced pressure while the weld cools. Each stage has defined pressure and time values.

Which standards define the welding parameters?

DVS 2207-1 (heated tool butt welding of thermoplastics) and ISO 21307 (butt fusion jointing of polyethylene pipes) define heating temperature, pressure stages and times by pipe diameter and wall thickness.

Which model do I need?

It depends on the pipe diameter range you weld: six models cover Ø63 to Ø1000 mm. Tell us your diameters and wall thicknesses and we recommend the right machine.

Is operator training included?

Yes. On-site installation and training are included, because correct set-up and a trained operator are what actually determine weld quality.
