Pipe Thermal Cycle Testing Machine

Evaluates thermal performance and durability of plastic pipes through repeated temperature cycles between hot and cold ranges. Designed to test resistance to thermal shocks and long-term performance in varying environmental conditions.

Proving hot- and cold-water pipe survives temperature cycling

Hot- and cold-water pipe systems expand and contract every time hot water runs. The thermal cycle testing machine alternates hot and cold water through pressurised pipe assemblies for thousands of cycles to reveal joint leaks, fitting pull-out and material fatigue before the product reaches a building. It runs at 4–10 bar with adjustable cycle times and up to 99,999 cycles under PLC control, with a flow rate above 12 m³/h and a tank of at least 600 litres, for PP-R, PE-X, PB and PE-RT systems (ISO 10508).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a thermal cycling test?

Pipe and fitting assemblies are pressurised and exposed to alternating hot and cold water for a defined number of cycles, then checked for leaks and damage.

Which pressures and cycle counts are possible?

4–10 bar, with adjustable hot/cold cycle times and up to 99,999 cycles.

Which pipe systems is it used for?

Hot- and cold-water systems such as PP-R, PE-X, PB and PE-RT pipes and their fittings, classified under ISO 10508.

What specimen sizes fit?

Pipe assemblies up to Φ63 and up to 4,000 mm long.
